1.2.12 Using Addresses to Identify Hosts
IP addresses and MAC addresses can be used rather than the host names in the Monitor windows to identify the hosts.
Procedure 1
- Open [Options] dialog box.
- Click [Display Host Name] item in the tree view in the left of the dialog box.
- Clear all the check boxes (shown below) in the [Name to display] region.
- [User Defined Name]
- [NetBIOS Name]
- [NIS Name]
- [DNS Name]
Procedure 2
- Choose [Search Host Name...] from the [Tool] menu of the Main window, or press <Ctrl-L> key.
- Click [Set Display Preference...] button.
- Clear all the check boxes in [Display Host Name] dialog box.
Procedure 3
- Choose [MAC Address Book] or [IP Address Book] from [Edit] menu of the Main window.
- Right-click on the address book.
- Choose [Set Display Preference...].
- Clear all the check boxes in [Display Host Name] dialog box.
