6.3 Address Book
In ASTEC Eyes,
you can use host names as well as IP and MAC addresses to identify hosts.
It is possible as follows using address book;
- Searching for host names corresponding to an IP addresses.
- Specify the user defined name to an MAC and IP address.

If more than one name is assigned to an IP address in a name service,
or more than one user defined names is assigned, select which name to use.
There are two types of address books;
one for the IP layer and the other for the MAC layer.
The former is an MAC address book and the latter is an IP address book.
There is no address book dedicated to an individual network interface.
All the IP and MAC addresses found will be shown
in the IP and MAC address book, respectively.

You can assign a desired host name (user defined name) to an IP or MAC address.
