ASTEC Eyes identify the application layer protocols using the TCP or UDP ports. ASTEC Eyes cannot always identify the protocols transmitted using the ports other than the well-known ports, e.g., when a proxy server or an ephemeral port is used.
In such a case, configure a decoding hint.

Procedure

1. Open [Options] dialog box.
2. Click [Decode Hints] in the tree view in the left of the dialog box.
3. Configure a decoding hint.

Note

• If you configure a wrong decode hint, an error may occur while decoding.
• In order to reflect decode hint in the decode or stream view already displayed, update decode view.
