You can configure a decode hint using [Options] dialog box.

Procedure 1

1. Open [Options] dialog box.
2. Click [Decode Hints] in the tree view in the left of a dialog box.
3. Click on the uppermost row with no decode hint set.
4. Click on the cell you want to edit.
5. Enter a value. You can choose a value from each drop down list for [IP address], [Transport], and [Protocol].
6. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you finish entering all the values.

Procedure 2

1. Open [Options] dialog box.
2. Click [Decode Hints] in the tree view in the left of a dialog box.
3. Select the row with no decode hint set using <> or <> key.
4. Move to the cell you want edit, using <> or <> key, and then press <F2> key.
5. Enter a value. You can choose a value from each drop down list for [IP address], [Transport], and [Protocol].
6. Press <Enter> or <F2> key.
7. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you finish entering all the values.

Note

• You can choose one of the application protocols displayed in the protocol information dialog box or enter an arbitrary name you want to use.
• If the current cell is in edit mode, move the focus in edit mode using <Tab> or <Shift-Tab> key.
• The preference is in descending order of rows in decode hints. If you want to change the order of the preference, select a decode hint row and click [Up] button or [Down] button.
• Click [Update Decode View] button () on the toolbar of a decode or stream view to apply the new decode hints to the decode or stream view.
