2.1.1 Starting Logging
Procedure
- Open [Host Properties] dialog box.
- Click [Log] tab.
- Select [Output log] check box.
- If writing logs for certain interface(s) is not necessary, clear the corresponding check box(s) to stop writing logs in the [Interfaces] area.
- Fill the following entries as needed.
- Output interval
- Number of entries in file
- Directory where the log is written
- Compress log files or not
- Delete log files Automatically or not
Note
-
In order to write log data, ASTEC Eyes Basic Package or Remote Module must be running on the host.
-
Log data can only be used after all the entries in a log file are written.
Therefore the latency period is [Output interval] x [Number of entries in file].
The larger the values of [Output interval] and [Number of entries in file] are,
the longer it will take before the log data can be retrieved and displayed.
-
Specify the directory where the log file is created
as a relative path to the directory where ASTEC Eyes or
Remote Module is installed.
-
Select the [Compress log files] check box to compress the log files by bzip2.
-
If you configure ASTEC Eyes to output log files,
ASTEC Eyes continues to output them even after you exit the application.
