ASTEC Eyes can periodically output the statistics of network traffic and monitor events into a file. This function is called logging.

Logging is used to record and later investigate:

• the long-term traffic trends, e.g., when the network traffic peaks and what protocols constitute the traffic at that time, and/or
• the monitor events of various kinds.
