3.1.5 Using Quick Return
In order to investigate network status,
it is sometimes necessary to repeat capturing packets and decoding them.
In such cases, you need to pause capture, create decode view, delete capture data, and start capture, repeatedly.
There is a function performing those procedures in one operation, called Quick Return.
Procedure 1
-
Select a network interface.
- Choose [Quick Return] from the [Capture] menu of the Main window.
Procedure 2
-
Right-click on the
entry of an interface
in the
Interface Selector window
.
- Choose [Quick Return].
Note
-
You cannot use Quick Return, when realtime decode is running.
-
A Quick Return function makes the copy of a capture buffer,
displays a decode view, deletes the data of a capture buffer,
and resumes capturing.
If you close a decode view without saving data, the data displayed on the decode view will be lost.
Please refer to
"Saving Decoded Data" in order to save the decoded data into a file.
Please refer to
"Saving Decoded Results into a Text File" in order to save the decoded result into a text file.
-
