7.2 Changing Connection Port Number
ASTEC Eyes connects to a Remote Module using port 8887 of TCP protocol as default.
You can also use another port number
to connect ASTEC Eyes to a Remote Module, e.g., for SSH port forwarding.
Procedure 1
- Choose [Connect...] from the [File] menu of the Main window.
- Enter a target host name or IP address into [Connect host].
- Select [Port] check box.
- Enter the port number to connect to.
- Click [Connect] button.
Procedure 2
- Right-click on an open space in the Interface Selector window.
- Choose [Connect...].
- Enter a target host name or IP address into [Connect host].
- Select [Port] check box.
- Enter the port number to connect to.
- Click [Connect] button.
Note

In the [Connect host] field,
specify the host by the name the local PC can recognize such as an IP address,
a DNS name, a NetBIOS name, and so on.

If you want to connect to a Remote Module with IPv6 (IP version 6),
select IPv6 from the drop down list in the right of [Connect host].

Click [Default Port] button in order to restore the port number to the default port number.
