7.1 Connecting to Remote Module
There are two ways to connect to a Remote Module.
- Connect to the host not displayed in the Interface Selector window.
- Connect to the host displayed in the Interface Selector window.
Connecting to the Host not Displayed in the Interface Selector Window
Procedure 1
- Choose [Connect...] from the [File] menu of the Main window.

Enter the name or IP address of the host running a Remote Module
into [Connect host] field.
- Click [Connect] button.
Procedure 2
- Right-click on an open space in the Interface Selector window.
- Choose [Connect...].

Enter the name or IP address of the host running a Remote Module
into [Connect host] field.
- Click [Connect] button.
Connecting to the Host Displayed in the Interface Selector window
Procedure

Right-click on the
disconnectied host entry

).
- Choose [Connect].
Note

In the [Connect host] field,
specify the host by the way the local PC can recognize such as an IP address,
a DNS name, a NetBIOS name, and so on.

If you want to connect to a Remote Module with IPv6 (IP version 6),
select IPv6 from the drop down list in the right of [Connect host].

ASTEC Eyes connects to a Remote Module using port 8887 of TCP protocol.
