6.2.2 Ping Tool
You can run ping in ASTEC Eyes as follows;
- Open [Ping] dialog box.
- Specify parameters and run ping.

Procedure 1 (running ping to the specified host)
Choose [Ping Tool...] from the [Tool] menu of the Main window.
Procedure 2 (running ping to a host in a Traffic window)

Select a Graph Item
in a Traffic window displaying traffic by IP addresses.
- Right-click on the window.
- Choose [Network Tools].
- Choose [Ping].
If more than one item is displayed, choose the host you want to ping to.
Procedure 3 (running ping to a host in the Address Table or Address Book)

Right-click on the row of the host you want to search
in the IP Address Table, MAC - IP Address Table, or IP Address Book.
- Choose [Network Tools].
- Choose [Ping].
If more than one item is displayed, choose the host you want to ping to.
Procedure 4 (running ping to a host in a decode or stream view)

Right-click on a packet or record containing an IP address
in a decode or stream view.
- Choose [Network Tools].
- Choose [Ping].
If more than one item is displayed, choose the host you want to ping to.
Specifying Parameters and Running Ping
Procedure

Enter an IP address or host name to be pinged into [Host] field.
If you open the [Ping] dialog box from a decode view, and so on,
[Host] field is specified.
- Specify the size and transmission count of packets to be sent by ping.

If you want to ping to the host outside of LAN using SOCKS server,
select [Use SOCKS] check box and choose a SOCKS server.
If there is not a SOCKS server you want to use in the list,
click [Advanced...] button and
configure a SOCKS server.
- Click [Run] button.
Selecting [Print results on message window] will display
the search results in the Message window of the Main window instead of
[Result] region.
