7.7 Obtaining and Releasing the Privileges
Configuration privileges
are required to perform the following actions;
- Register an interface entry label.
- Enable or disable interfaces.
- Reset monitoring.
- Configuring, starting and stopping logging.
- Configuring, starting and stopping continuous capture.

Applying a continuous capture filter,
start continuous capture trigger,
and pause continuous capture trigger.
- Configuring monitor expert events.
- Configuring the notification of expert events.
- Configuring SNMP.
Obtaining a Configuration Privilege
Procedure 1

Open [Host Properties] dialog box
.
- Click [Get] button.
Procedure 2

Right-click on a
host entry
in the Interface Selector window.
- Choose [Get Privilege].
Releasing a Configuration Privilege
Procedure 1

Open [Host Properties] dialog box.
- Click [Release] button.
Procedure 2
- Right-click on a host entry in the Interface Selector window.
- Choose [Release Privilege].

You can obtain the privileges only when any other currently-running
ASTEC Eyes has not yet obtained them.

with a configuration privilege.
