1 Monitoring
You can monitor the network traffic, measuring the flow of packets through the network and viewing their statistics.
The data showed while monitoring is called monitor data .
ASTEC Eyes provides four types of monitor data.
- Statistical data of traffic
Displays the traffic classified by source addresses,
destination addresses, host pairs, protocols, or combinations of them,
in various formats; line chart, bar chart, pie chart, or detailed table.

The list of MAC addresses and IP addresses
Displays the list of the MAC addresses and IP addresses
contained in packets.

TCP connection status
Monitors and displays the status of TCP connections on the selected network interface.

The ports status of hosts
Displays the status of the ports of the hosts whose traffic is monitored.
The windows displaying the statistical data of traffic, the list of the
addresses, and the TCP connection status is called the monitor windows .
There are three kinds of monitor windows in ASTEC Eyes.
- traffic window
- address table
- TCP status information
The port status of hosts is displayed on the Port Analysis dialog.
