4.4.9 Searching String (Packet Detail Pane and Dump Pane)
When the focus is set to the Packet Detail pane,
the decoded result of the packet or record selected in the Summary pane will
be searched.
When the focus is set to the Dump pane,
the hexadecimal dump of the packet or record selected in the Summary pane will
be searched.
Furthermore, the decoded results of all packets and records can be searched.
Procedure
- Set the focus to the Packet Detail pane or Dump pane.

Choose [Find...] from the [Edit] menu of the Main window, or press <Ctrl-F> key.

If you want search through all packets or records, select [Search Through Packet] check box or [Search Through Session] check box.
- Enter the text you want to search, and click [Find Next] button.

You can use a regular expression
to search Summary pane.
Select [Regular Expression] check box and enter a regular expression into [String].

The Dump pane is horizontally divided into three regions.
The left region is for displaying the addresses of the data starting from 0,
and is not searched.

The hexadecimal representation of data in the middle region and the character representation in the right regions of Dump pane
will be searched.
That is, in the Dump pane,
you can specify the text to be searched either in hexadecimal numbers or characters.
When you need to search for data that cannot be expressed in printable characters,
enter the data in its hexadecimal representation instead.
For example,
when searching for the text "Keep",
you can enter "Keep", "4b656570", or "4b 65 65 70".
