3 Capturing

You can copy the packets flowing through the network into the buffer of ASTEC Eyes (capture buffer) to analyze them in detail, and save them into a file.

Capture buffers are allocated in the memory of the host where ASTEC Eyes or Remote Module is installed, one for each network interface. The data read into a capture buffer from network or capture file is called capture data.

There are types of captures; an ordinary capture with which the captured data is analyzed after capture is stopped, realtime decode capture with which capturing and analyzing data are done concurrently, and continuous capture with which captured data is saved in files automatically.
