4.7.5 Updating Decode View with Specified Japanese Encoding
For the capture data containing Japanese text,
you can specify encoding and update the decode view.
Changing the Encoding of a Packet or Record
- Right-click on a decode or stream view.
- Choose [Japanese encoding].
- Choose one of the encodings;
- JIS
,
- EUC
,
- SJIS
, or
- Unicode (UCS-2 and UTF-8)
.
Changing the Encoding of the Data Currently Displayed
You can change the configuration for the encoding of not only the selected packet or record but all the data currently displayed all at once.
- Right-click on a decode or stream view.
- Choose [Japanese encoding].
- Choose [Apply to All Packets].
- Choose one of the encodings;
- JIS
,
- EUC
,
- SJIS
, or
- Unicode (UCS-2 and UTF-8)
.
Note
-
Right-click the row you want to change the encoding when clicking Summary pane,
since the right-click will also select a row.

This operation does not change the encoding
of packets or records not shown, e.g., by applying a filter.

The encoding selected by the protocol specification will not change.
This operation does not affect a decoded result.
